Interview - a student from Thailand

This is the interview of our thai vet student : Ars.



Name : WIRATSUDAKUL Anuwat

                              Age: 28

Place you come from: Nakhon Sawan, Thaïlande

The studies you did before: 
Doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM): Mahidol University (graduate 2008)
Master of veterinary public health (MVPH): Jointed master programme of Chiang Mai university, Thailand and Freie Universität Berlin, Germany (graduate 2011).
Then why are you here in France ?
I got a French government scholarship through the French embassy of Thailand for my PhD study.

What are you doing here ?
I am doing my PhD with Dr. Karine CHELVET-MONFRAY in the project on mathematical modelling of Avian Influenza in Thailand

Will you receive a degree ?
Of course, I will get a PhD.

How long are you staying in France?
3 years but I will spend my time also in Thailand for 2-3 months a year

What about your French lessons?
I have just start my class today. I think it's very good. The teacher speaks all in french, but I think this will help me to learn french faster.

What about France (you can criticize )?
I think Franch is a nice country. I, personally, like european climate. Everythig here is convinient. The people are nice and friendly. Lastly, thaks to the French government that give me the grants to be here.

What do you think that coming here will teach (i don't find the good word) good/bad thinks, what are you expecting about your life here?
I will learn some french culture, perharps how to make french foods. Also, of course, your language. I will also learn that wherever I am, I can be happy if I have friends. I love to have more and more new friends.

How do you imagine your future? (job, country, ... )
After I graduate, I will be a university lecturer at Mahidol University in Thailand. My subject is veterinary epidemiology.
