VetAgroSup is at the forefront of the “One Health” concept
It is the reunion of
ENITA of Clermont (an Agronomic campus)
& National Veterinary School of Lyon
& French National School of Veterinary Services (ENSV)
- EAEVE accredited (and working towards the AVMA accreditation)
- provides world class education and research
- Farm, equine and small animal 1st opinion and referral hospitals on site
- has a state of the art technology platform (MRI -Cirma, CT scanner- Voxcan)
- has an accredited animal experimental facility, the Claude Bourgelat Institute (ICLB)
Clinical Facilities
- 4300 sq with 13 surgery rooms
- Approx. 20,000 patients per year
- Divided into three main sections :
Small animal dpt (CHEVAC),Large animal dpt, Equine dpt (Clinéquine)

General consultations and specialist referrals in : Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Gastro-enterology, Dermatology, Oncology, Neurology, Behavior…

- daily debriefing on clinical cases
Large animal clinic, “ Hôpital des Ruminants ”
Individual and population medicine, surgery, collaboration with necropsy and anatomopathology services
Includes a reproduction service : calving, caesarean, milk production, bovine reproduction monitoring with strong student implication
Includes a separate clinic (UCRA) 10 miles away from the school with 4 full-time vet doctors, covering a few hundred farms in the region
- Ambulatory/on-farm, and emergency care for all farm animals
- Routine fertility visits
- Herd health planning visits
Equine clinic, “Clinéquine”
Emergency service opened 24/7, 365 days/year
- High-level surgery (colic, arthroscopy…) thanks to :
- latest technologies : foot-MRI, aseptic and septic surgery room, padded induction and recovery rooms
- worldwide-renowned surgeons
- 19 stalls and mare and foal stalls, 17 stalls equipped for administration of intravenous fluids
- Brand new isolation ward for contagious horses
- Separate reproduction barn for mares and stallions
- Equine research center in orthopedics, rehabilitation and sports medecine (GREMERES)
